MJM Cleaning Services provides recurring and one time residential cleaning for homeowners in Wayzata, with service in Minnetonka and Eden Prairie as well. Each home gets a cleaning plan built around its condition, your priorities and how often you want service, and the work follows a detailed checklist with quality checks behind it.
This page explains what a visit covers, what usually needs a deep cleaning or a separate request, how pricing works and what to expect from your first cleaning, so you can decide before you reach out.

Every home has different priorities, so MJM personalizes the cleaning plan around the condition of the home, the rooms that need the most attention and how often you want service. That keeps recurring cleaning focused on what matters to the people living there, instead of forcing every household into the same routine.
People call a cleaner for different reasons. Some have a full schedule and want weekends back for family. Some are caring for children or pets, preparing for guests, or recovering from an illness or surgery. Others are older or have a disability and need help keeping up with the house. MJM works with homeowners in all of these situations, and the plan starts with what you actually need.
A standard residential cleaning is maintenance work. It keeps a home that is already kept up from drifting, and it follows a detailed checklist so the same areas get attention every visit.
In the kitchen, cleaning focuses on the surfaces that get used daily: countertops, the sink, the stovetop and the outside of the appliances, along with floors and trash. Grease near the stove is handled with a degreaser suited to the job, and stainless steel appliances are cleaned with a product made for stainless, so the finish is not scratched or streaked.
Bathrooms get toilets, showers, tubs, sinks, mirrors and floors. Mineral buildup and soap scum are treated with products designed for those problems, and mirrors are cleaned with a glass cleaner so they dry clear.
Bedrooms and living areas are dusted and vacuumed, with attention to the furniture surfaces, floors and baseboard edges within reach. Wood furniture is cleaned with a product suited to wood where appropriate. If there is a surface in a room that needs special care, tell us and we will build it into your plan.
Floors take the most wear, so they get the most consistent attention. MJM vacuums with a Miele HEPA vacuum and cleans hardwood and vinyl floors with Bona. Entryways and hallways deserve a mention in Minnesota, where snow, wet boots and tracked in salt and dirt show up first near the door and spread from there. Tell us which entrance your household uses most so it gets the attention it needs.
Many cleaning disputes come from a mismatch in expectations. A homeowner assumes a regular visit includes something that the cleaning company treats as a deep cleaning or a separate request. To avoid that, here are the tasks people most often assume are included but that usually sit outside routine maintenance cleaning:
If you want any of these, say so when you request a quote. We will tell you whether it fits into your regular plan, calls for a deep cleaning, or should be requested separately, and we will confirm that before the first visit. Agreeing on scope up front is better than finding out afterward.
Standard cleaning maintains a home. Deep cleaning is more detailed work that deals with accumulated buildup, the places that routine visits do not reach, and the condition of a home that has gone a long time without cleaning. If your home is already maintained, standard cleaning keeps it there. If it has fallen behind, a deep cleaning is usually the better starting point.
There is a practical way to decide. Think about when the home was last cleaned in detail, how much buildup you can see on surfaces, floors, bathrooms and in the kitchen, and whether you want a one time reset or ongoing upkeep. A home with visible buildup that gets standard cleaning only can end up with a plan that never quite catches up, while a home that is already in good shape does not need to pay for work it does not need.
Our deep cleaning in Wayzata page explains that service in more detail. If you are preparing to leave a property or settle into a new one, see move in and move out cleaning, which is a different service built for that transition.
MJM offers three recurring residential cleaning plans in Wayzata. The best one depends on how your household lives in the home.
A few questions help you choose: how many people and pets live in the home, how often you cook, how much cleaning you will do between visits, and how the home looks after two weeks compared with four. Recurring clients may also receive different pricing from one time clients.
It starts when you send us the details of your home and what you want. We use them to build your plan, price the service and set the schedule. Your quote and booking are handled through Jobber, MJM’s service booking and pricing system.
For the first visit, the most useful thing you can do is tell us your priorities. Which rooms matter most, which surfaces need extra care, whether there are areas to leave alone, and how you want pets handled. The work follows a detailed checklist, and quality checks are part of how MJM works.
Depending on the condition of the home, a deep cleaning may be a better first visit than standard cleaning, and we discuss that before you book. After the first cleaning, tell us what to adjust, because the plan is meant to change as you learn what works.
MJM uses professional cleaning products selected according to the surface and the task, including eco friendly options where appropriate. Some jobs call for conventional products, and we say so plainly. We do not claim that every product is non toxic or suitable for everyone, so if someone in your home has sensitivities, tell us when you request a quote.
Here are examples of how products are matched to the work:
Choosing by surface matters because the wrong product can dull a finish or damage a material. If you have a surface you want cleaned a certain way, or a product you prefer, mention it.
MJM does not price residential cleaning by a simple hourly rate. Pricing is based on the service you need, and the main factors are the square footage of the home, the type of cleaning, the condition of the home, how often you want service, and any specific cleaning requirements. A weekly client, a biweekly client and a monthly client may receive different pricing, and a deep cleaning is priced differently from a standard visit.
MJM has a $150 minimum booking. We do not publish a single price for residential cleaning because the answer depends on your home, but the details below let us price your service accurately so there is no guessing.
You do not need to clean before we come. The goal is simply to make it easy to clean your home well. Pick up loose clothing, toys, papers and dishes so surfaces and floors are reachable. Put away valuables and anything fragile or sentimental that you would rather not have moved. Tell us about surfaces that need special care, rooms that are off limits and the areas that matter most to you.
Share how we will get into the home, including alarm or door instructions, and let us know about pets, including any that should be kept in a certain room. The more we know in advance, the more closely the first visit matches what you want.
MJM Cleaning Services was started in 2023 by Tania, who has around 10 years of experience in the cleaning industry and worked at North Memorial Hospital before starting the business. MJM is a local Minnesota company, not a national franchise, and residential cleaning is our main focus. Tania started MJM partly to give clients more time for family, work and other priorities, and she values making a visible difference for clients, including elderly and disabled clients who may need more help maintaining their homes.
In practice, that means a cleaning plan built around your home, detailed checklists, quality checks, a friendly bilingual team, professional products matched to surfaces, and a Miele HEPA vacuum. MJM also carries business insurance through Hiscox. Our philosophy is to treat clients and their homes the way we would want to be treated. You can read more about MJM.
MJM serves Wayzata first, along with Minnetonka and Eden Prairie, and also works in Plymouth, Maple Grove, Orono, Medina and Dayton. Homes in this area are not all alike, and MJM cleans single family homes, townhomes, condos and apartments, and larger properties as well as smaller households, each with a plan that fits the space.
Seasons shape the work too. Winter brings wet boots and tracked in dirt to the entryway, and many households book a spring cleaning once the weather turns. If you are in a neighboring community, visit our Minnetonka house cleaning and Eden Prairie house cleaning pages. If you rent out a property short term, see Airbnb cleaning in Wayzata.

Tania helped me out when my cleaning lady quit right before my daughter and her family came from London for a stay. She came right over, went over what I needed, I hired her and she was there the next day with the cleaning ladies. They were fabulous! The next time they cleaned Tania just sent the two women and they did a perfect job of getting my house spotless and just perfectly cleaned. I am so thankful for Tania, Susan and Maria and want everyone to know how wonderful they are for cleaning a house!Posted on Google![]()

FAQs
Have questions about residential cleaning? Find quick answers about what is included, pricing, scheduling, products and preparing for your first visit in Wayzata and nearby areas.
Standard cleaning covers routine maintenance of your kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas, including surfaces, mirrors, floors and trash, following a detailed checklist. It is built around your home and priorities. Tasks such as the inside of the oven, refrigerator or cabinets, detailed grout, blinds and laundry are usually separate requests, and we confirm your scope before the first visit.
Standard cleaning maintains a home that is already kept up, while deep cleaning is more detailed work that handles accumulated buildup and areas routine visits do not reach. A home that has gone a long time without cleaning often benefits from a deep clean first, then standard visits to keep it there. Move cleaning is a separate service for property transitions.
MJM does not price residential cleaning by the hour. Price depends on the service, square footage, the condition of the home, how often you want cleaning and any specific requirements. Recurring clients may receive different pricing from one time clients. MJM has a $150 minimum booking. Send us your home’s details and we will price your service accurately.
It depends on your household. Weekly suits homes with children, pets, frequent cooking or little time between visits. Biweekly works for many regularly maintained homes. Monthly can suit smaller or lighter use homes where you keep up with daily tidying. Consider how many people and pets live there, how much you clean between visits, and how the home looks after two weeks.
Your cleaning plan and checklist are built around your home, so the same instructions guide every visit. How team assignment works for recurring clients is something we confirm with you when you set up service, so ask about it before you book. If you have preferences about who enters your home or how it is cleaned, tell us at the start.
No. MJM brings professional cleaning products chosen for each surface and task, including eco friendly options where appropriate, and a Miele HEPA vacuum. Examples include Bona for hardwood and vinyl floors, Sprayway for glass and Weiman for stainless steel. If you prefer a particular product or have a sensitivity, tell us when you request a quote.
That depends on how you want to arrange access, and we confirm it when you book. Some homeowners stay home, while others share entry instructions in advance. Either way, tell us about alarms, pets, rooms that are off limits and any items that should not be moved, so the visit goes the way you expect.
You do not need to clean first. Pick up loose clothing, toys, papers and dishes so surfaces and floors are reachable, put away valuables and fragile items, and tell us your priority areas and any surfaces that need special care. Share entry instructions and pet information in advance, and let us know which entrance gets the most use.
